The transformation…
Before…
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. ”
Surrounding soapstone counters and a quartz island created a fun contrast that embraced the mix of materials throughout the space.
a COZY nook…
I built this custom bench, table and light fixture to fit into this window for a cozy breakfast nook.
Reconfiguring the layout in this space made all the difference. I rebuilt and refinished the existing cabinetry to create a very functional work triangle perfect for entertaining. The addition of a caddy-cornered built-in fridge nook provided ample space for a full size refrigerator and pantry that fit perfectly within the space.
The light is made from a bird cage with edison bulbs strung through.
I painted birds on the surrounding walls for added whimsy!
Custom shelving added to available wall space for extra storage!
A navy blue island provided a fun pop of color to the kitchen
To make sure every bit of cabinet space was useful, I built out these fun sink pockets perfect for storing dish towels and unsightly dish soap and sponges!
I built a custom range hood cover out of bead board salvaged from an old schoolhouse in Durham, N.C. It brought wood details and warmth to the cook space for another cozy nook.
